The City of Vincent is proposing to name the laneway between Coogee and Matlock streets in Mt Hawthorn and is seeking community feedback.

The proposed name is Cockatoo Lane and was submitted by a community member.

The name recognises the Black Cockatoos that visit each July to pick the yellow leaves off a cluster of Honey Locust trees adjacent the laneway. The cockatoos discard the leaves onto the laneway floor, leaving it a bright yellow colour.

If this consultation receives community support, we will submit a road naming application to Landgate. Landgate will then approve or deny the application.
