CItizenship Ceremonies
The Department of Home Affairs will advise you directly whether or not you have been successful. Following this, an email invitation from the City is sent out to all eligible candidates approximately 8-6 weeks prior to the next ceremony date, make sure you check your Junk folder.
The next Citizenship Ceremony is being held on January 29, 2025, invitations for this Ceremony have been sent.
If you have any questions regarding your application or need an urgent ceremony you will need contact the Department of Home Affairs on 131 880, email or visit the Australian Citizenship website, the City does not receive updates or information about your application.

When are Citizenship Ceremonies held?
The City of Vincent holds four to six Ceremonies per year, each taking place every two to three months.
How do I find out when my Citizenship Ceremony will be held?
The City will be notified by the Department of Home Affairs approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the ceremony date that you have been approved for Citizenship. You will receive an invitation via email - make sure you check your Junk folder.
I have received my letter of approval. When will I receive an invitation to a Ceremony?
You will receive an email invitation approximately 6-8 weeks prior to when the Ceremony will be taking place.
What do I need to bring the Ceremony?
You will need to bring your driver's licence or passport.
What is the dress code for the Ceremony?
Smart attire is required. National or cultural dress is welcomed.
I can't attend the Ceremony, am I able to attend an earlier Ceremony?
If you're unable to attend the Ceremony you have been invited to, you will be moved to the next Ceremony. If you're seeking an urgent ceremony, this will need to be arranged with the Department of Home Affairs by calling 131 880.
How many guests am I allowed to bring?
The City allows for two guests to attend, however if you wish to bring an extra guest please contact the City on 9273 6000 or email citizenship@vincent.wa.gov.au
Can babies and children attend the Ceremony?
Yes, you are welcome to bring babies and children to the Ceremony.
How long does the Ceremony run for?
The Ceremony will run for approximately 1 hour, followed by refreshments.
Is there a photographer at the Ceremony?
Yes, the City will have a photographer at the Ceremony and the photos will be available on the City's Facebook page following the Ceremony.
What is the difference between 'Pledge 1' and 'Pledge 2'?
Pledge 1 is the Oath Pledge which refers to God.
Pledge 2 is the Affirmation Pledge, which does not refer to God.
