Safety & crime prevention
The issue of safety goes beyond crime and enforcement, and touches on many of the projects and programs that we deliver.
Everyone has a role to play in keeping our community safe. We know that connected communities are safer communities, and by working together we can reduce crime within the City and strengthen our local neighbourhoods.
The City's Safer Vincent program aims to:
- Encourage a collaborative, whole of community approach to community safety and crime prevention; and
- Promote strong partnerships and connections that contribute to positive community safety outcomes within the City.
Find out how you can support these objectives through the safety and crime prevention initiatives and information on this page.
Knowing who to report to is important
The City of Vincent works closely with local police but does not act as a replacement or share the same authority.
To ensure an appropriate and timely response to any incidents, it is important to contact the relevant agency directly.
Important contact information
Local police stations should be contacted only for general administration enquiries or to discuss local issues that don't require immediate assistance. Please do not call local police directly for emergency assistance or to request police attendance.

Safer Vincent Motor Vehicle Lens Cloths
It can take less than 60 seconds to steal from a vehicle. Generally, a vehicle is a target because the items stolen are visible from the outside.
These lens cloths are intended to be left on your dash and serve as a reminder to remove valuables before parking or leaving your vehicle, therefore reducing the opportunity for a theft to occur.
