The City of Vincent is encouraging anyone looking to hold innovative and diverse events in its vibrant town centres to apply for sponsorship.

Every year, Vincent provides funding for a variety of events such as festivals, concerts, markets and community celebrations that are held within the City’s boundaries.

Applications are now open and will close on Friday, 21 March at 4pm, with up to $40,000 available for each successful recipient.

“From festivals to cultural celebrations, we’re proud to support a range of free, family-friendly events each year,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.

“These are fantastic opportunities for the community to gather together, have fun and connect with their local neighbourhood.

“We’re calling on organisers and groups who want to run new events that cater for people of all cultures, ages and abilities to apply for funding.”

In 2024-25, Vincent provided sponsorship to 21 events including The Leederville Precinct’s inaugural Leedy Artfest held on 6 October 2024 in Electric Lane.

The Artfest featured a market with works by more than 40 local artists, hands-on workshops, a pre-loved book sale put on by the Vincent Library, a kids’ creative play space and live music.

“We were thrilled to be able to run Leedy Artfest last year with the support of City of Vincent,” said The Leederville Precinct marketing manager Eamonn Beahan.

“It was great to be able to run an event of this scope that was completely free to attend, and this wouldn’t have been possible without their sponsorship.

“We look forward to bringing it back again this year – we already have some exciting collaborations in the works to make this year’s event bigger and better.

“I would strongly encourage anyone interested in running an event to apply – even if it’s your first time doing something like this.”
