The City of Vincent Library will begin rolling out a new collection layout designed to make book browsing easier, more intuitive, and more enjoyable for the community.
The genre-based layout will first be introduced in the Young Adult and Large Print sections with plans to expand this new system throughout the entire library.
This transformation comes directly from community feedback received in our annual Library Survey conducted last November.
"Our goal is to create a more engaging and user-friendly experience for all readers,” said Gabrielle Hinchliffe, the City of Vincent Branch Librarian. “We’ve listened to the community and developed a collection according to their needs. By arranging books by genre, members can quickly find stories they love, discover new authors, and explore related books in a way that feels natural and inviting.”
The new layout includes clearly labelled sections for popular genres such as mystery, science fiction, fantasy, romance, historical fiction, and more. Sub-genres and reader-friendly signage will further enhance the browsing experience.
Library staff will be on hand to assist patrons with the transition and answer any questions.
Community members are encouraged to share feedback as the library makes this transformation.
