Boorloo Contemporary

Boorloo Contemporary

A Perth Festival commission.

We're celebrating the borderless creative thinking of Aboriginal and First Nations artists with a new initiative. Discover transformative, immersive experienced at the forefront of innovation, from artists who are facilitating the most important conversations of our time. Boorloo Contemporary will expand and challenge your expectation of the 'visual arts'.

This exhibition is run by Perth Festival and proudly supported by the City of Vincent.

Launching Boorloo Contemporary is an illuminated commission for East Perth Power Station, which lights up the night once again with a visual feast that responds to the history of the site. New work by Noongar artists Allan Yarran, Ilona McGuire and Daniel Hansen visually speak to the history of the site in colour, record and poem. A provocative ‘nose-to-tail’ west Kimberley feast and ambitious solo exhibitions from Alice Guiness and Mervyn Street also feature in the inaugural Boorloo Contemporary program in venues around Perth.

For more information on the exhibitions please visit Perth Festival - Boorloo Contemporary.
