The City of Vincent will be undertaking much needed works to resurface the Tony Di Scerni pathway in late 2023.
The pathway, which starts in Maylands and ends in Mt Lawley, is heavily used and is a major cycle route into the city along the Swan River.
There will be closures in place at various times.
Remedial works will take place from 18-29 September, between 9am and 4pm. During this time, people will have restricted access to the pathway.
It will take two weeks to flatten the pathway, pull it up, recompact it and get it ready for asphalt.
The works are unable to be done at night as there are no light towers in the area.
A detour will be in place along Guildford Road but there will not be a cycle lane. Bicycles are allowed on the footpaths if cyclists do not feel safe to ride on the road.
After remedial works are complete, the pathway will be fully accessible to the public before asphalt works start.
Asphalt works will take place from 19-20 October (inclusive). There will be no access to the pathway from 7am to late evening. The pathway will be open again outside of those hours.
