Major upgrades at Sullivan Logistics Stadium (Leederville Oval) are on-track for completion ahead of the WAFL season.

The City of Vincent secured a $3.8 million grant from the State Government towards turf and lighting upgrades, in addition to contributions from the WA Football Commission, AFL, East Perth and Subiaco football clubs.

The new turf is in and will continue to green as the grass settles in.

The WAFL clubs will resume training sessions on the oval by the end of February.

Following the turf replacement, the installation of new light poles is now underway.

The lights are of broadcast standard and can be dimmed for community use when there are no matches or events on.

Once the upgrades are complete, the stadium will be able to host AFL, AFLW and WAFL night matches.
