As part of the City of Vincent's ongoing maintenance schedule, we will be undertaking remedial works on a large section of the road surface along Newcastle Street, on northern side only from Loftus Street to Carr Place.

The road has become dislodged, uneven and untidy.

Works will commence on Saturday, 28 September 2024 and take place from 7am to 4pm.

Remedial works

Works will involve removing sections of damaged road and kerbing around the tree wells and reinstating, as well as attempting to regrade those sections of carriageway where damage has been caused by tree roots.

To enable the works to proceed smoothly all on-road parking in Newcastle Street (northern side only), will be banned through the work zone while works are in progress.

Road closures, warning signs and traffic control will be in place in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards but some delays should be expected.
