It’s every kid’s dream to climb, slide and swing to their heart’s content at a local playground.
Vincent’s all-new playground at Birdwood Square offers just that.
It features two swings, basket swing, slides, a timber and rope ravine bridge crossing, fire pole, monkey bars, pommel walker, talk tube, half arched net climber, rock wall, climbing nets, steppers, an abacus and counter and shade sails.
Vincent’s playground enthusiasts and students from the neighbouring Highgate Primary School played a helping hand in coming up with ideas for the equipment.
“We are pleased to launch this new playground in the heart of the inner-city,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.
“Our young residents let us know what equipment they wanted, and we are proud to have been able to make it happen.
“The playground will be welcomed by the students from Highgate Primary School and other locals who head down to the park with their friends after school and on weekends.”
This exciting addition to the park comes after Vincent built a toilet and changeroom facility, thanks to funding contributions from the State Government through an election commitment from the Hon. John Carey MLA, and the Department of Education.
The facility enables visitors to enjoy the park for longer and the neighbouring Highgate Primary School to have access to toilets during sport carnivals.
