I would like to acknowledge the anti-social behaviour and community safety concerns we have been hearing from residents in the Highgate and Claisebrook areas.
To find out more about these concerns, we recently held our first Community Safety Forum which was attended by representatives from WA Police Force, Department of Communities, Neighbourhood Watch WA and community services.
It is vital that our community reports any anti-social behaviour directly to WA Police not only for an immediate response if required but this also provides them with data to allocate the appropriate levels of resourcing for the area.
We are continuing to see tree loss due to private developments, the Polyphagous shot-hole borer and effects of climate change.
As we head into the colder months, we will soon start planting hundreds of trees across Vincent as part of our annual tree planting program.
Our leafy and vibrant town centres are well-loved by the community and we’re looking at how we can improve them in the future.
We’re seeking feedback on our planning frameworks for North Perth, Mt Hawthorn, William Street and Beaufort Street.
We want to hear from as many people as possible, even if you are happy with our proposals.
I encourage you to have your say.
We have some great events coming up. We will also be hosting activities during National Reconciliation Week, and I hope to see you there.
Best wishes,
Mayor Alison Xamon
