Following the installation of a raised plateau at the intersection of Alma Road and Leake Street in 2023, the City is planning to extend the traffic islands this month.

Work in planned to start on Wednesday 22 May, with the new traffic islands being installed on Thursday, 23 May, weather permitting. Work will happen between the hours of 7am and 4pm. The process involves removing the existing traffic island and installing a new one in alignment with the existing junction. 

To enable the works to proceed smoothly road closures will be in place within the work zone.
