Robertson Park Development

Vincent's largest Tennis Centre and surrounding park on Fitzgerald Street will undergo a major transformation as the City sets its Robertson Park Development Plan in motion.

The first stage was completed in October 2024. Courts at the Tennis Centre have been refurbished in line with Tennis Australia standards, complete with new lighting, fencing, multi-use sports courts and  walkways to provide a much-improved playing experience.

Plans for future stages include a nature playground, outdoor exercise equipment, lighting, improvements to the dog exercise area and a public toilet.

The Robertson Park Development Plan responds to a need for more flexible, multi-use public space in Vincent while ensuring our ageing facilities are renewed. With increased density, smaller backyards and a growing population in our inner-city area, access to recreation and leisure activities is more important than ever.

Now complete

Tennis Centre: multisport courts

In the first stage of the project, six tennis courts have been refurbished and converted to four multi-sport courts complete with LED floodlighting and new fencing. The upgrade not only accommodates tennis, but open opportunities for other sports including netball to be played at Robertson Park.

A dual hit-up wall and half basketball court are now open to the community with a vibrant mural as the backdrop. The new look entrance has improved accessibility and made the centre more welcoming to visitors of all ages and abilities.

These works are partially funded by the State Government, through an election commitment from the Hon. John Carey MLA, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ (DLGSC) Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund, DLGSC’s Club Night Lights Program and Vincent.
