Freedom of Information Policy

The City of Vincent is reviewing its Freedom of Information Policy and is seeking feedback on the proposed changes.

The process for formal Freedom of Information (FOI) requests is complicated and involves both cost and potential delays to members of the public seeking information that can be provided rapidly.

The existing policy was developed to respond to applications that could be processed within a short timeframe while still protecting the personal information of third parties.

It was adopted in April 1998 and was last reviewed in February 2013.

The proposed amendment seeks to further improve the experience of applicants by waiving the need for a formal FOI request, and fee, where information can be provided:

  • with less than two hours of officer time; and
  • unedited or edited to the extent that identification of a third party is protected.

Visit Imagine Vincent to find out more and have your say.

Consultation closes 4pm Friday, 21 February 2025.
