The Poppy Project - Poppy Making Workshop

 

Poppies are the official symbol of remembrance for those lost in War.

A craft poppy making workshop will take place at the Vincent Community Centre on Tuesday 8 October, where materials will be available for community groups and members.

The poppies will then be displayed at the front of the Administration Building from Friday 8th to Monday 11th of November 2024.

Light morning tea will be provided.

This invitation extends to community groups, local businesses, sporting clubs, local schools, and individuals.

If you are unable to attend the workshop but would like to contribute to the commemorative art installation, please contact the Community Development team.

THE POPPY PROJECT APPLICATION

The Poppy Project involves the City providing paper-made (recycled paper) poppy templates that will be installed on a piece of mesh that is then wrapped around the base of one of the trees on Keith Frame Reserve from Friday 8th to Monday 11th November 2024.

Poppy-making kits will be provided to community groups, sporting clubs, and local schools to contribute to this commemorative art installation for Remembrance Day.

Please note, expressions of interest are required.  Further information will be provided upon review of your application.
