Looking for an entertaining weekday activity for the school holidays? Join us on a FREE community walking tour of the Resource Recovery Group's Canning Vale Centre with the team from Recycle Right®.
You will get an inside look at what happens to kerbside waste and recycling after collection and how it is transformed back into a resource.
On this 90 minute tour you will view:
🍎 FOGO processing facility, where FOGO (food organics, garden organics) material is pre-processed to remove contamination.
🌳 Green waste facility, where bulk garden waste is received.
♻️ Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), where recyclables from the yellow top kerbside bins are separated, baled and sold for reuse.
👩🏫 Waste education centre, where there are more resources to help you to reduce, reuse and recycle.
🚌 Bus transport provided departing from City of Wanneroo and Leederville Train Station.
- 8.30am Bus departs City of Wanneroo civic building [23 Dundebar rd, Wanneroo]
- 9.30am Bus departs The Avenue Car park near Leederville Train Station [off Leederville Pde, meet behind Siena's restaurant]
- 10.30am Tour begins at Canning Vale Centre
Tour path and footwear requirements
The tour involves spending approximately 30 minutes of walking outdoors on bush paths around the site. A reasonable level of physical fitness is required.
Fully enclosed footwear is essential for all attendees.
Children aged six years and over are welcome. They must be accompanied by a supervising adult and register a ticket to secure a seat on the bus.
