The City of Vincent has developed its fourth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and is seeking community feedback on the proposed deliverables.
Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Aboriginal people, for the benefit of all Australians.
Vincent has built a strong reconciliation foundation through the implementation of the City’s previous three RAPs.
Our fourth plan, the Stretch RAP, reaffirms the City’s ongoing commitment to provide our staff, community, and stakeholders with an opportunity to engage, listen and connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The draft Stretch RAP 2025 - 2027 was lodged with Reconciliation Australia in March 2024 for review and has now received conditional endorsement.
In developing this plan, Vincent consulted with Reconciliation Australia and our Boordiya (Boss) Reference Group, as well as our internal RAP Working Group, Executive and staff.
The Stretch RAP is a public commitment to reconciliation and will serve as a guide as to how we continue our journey.
This consultation is an opportunity for the community to comment on the Stretch RAP deliverables, as well as share thoughts on acknowledging and promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and protocols.
Consultation closes 4pm Tuesday, 19 November 2024.
