Community kindness shines with successful food drive

Vincent locals have shown generosity during a recent food drive for charity organisation the Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD).

The City helped CARAD by collecting essential pantry and hygiene items to help meet the basic needs of people experiencing hardship.

As part of our Strategic Community Plan 2022-2032, the City of Vincent is committed to being an inclusive, accessible, and equitable City for all. Supporting CARAD is one of the ways we aim to help our community remain connected and healthy.

Donations of items including tinned food, rice and bathroom essentials have been delivered to CARAD's headquarters on Stirling Street in Perth where they will be passed on to people who need them. Many of CARAD’s clients do not have the right to work and are ineligible for financial support.

The donations are set to make a significant impact in meeting the basic needs of those experiencing hardship. The collected items will help CARAD continue its vital work of supporting asylum seekers, refugees, and detainees.

If you would like to make a donation you can still do so directly through CARAD. Visit their website to find out more.
