The City of Vincent is reviewing its existing heritage properties and places.

All residents and landowners are invited to nominate any properties or places they believe should be added to the Local Heritage Survey (LHS).

The Heritage Act 2018 requires all local government authorities in Western Australia to identify places of cultural heritage significance in a LHS, which has to be periodically updated.

In response to this requirement, Vincent is reviewing its Municipal Heritage Inventory (MHI).

The current MHI was prepared and adopted in 1995, reviewed in 2007 and has been intermittently updated since.

It contains approximately 280 places with over 20 included on the State Register of Heritage Places.

During this time, the State Government's Planning and Heritage legislation has changed, and Vincent has seen widescale redevelopment. The City is therefore now developing a new LHS.

Community nominations will help us better understand and celebrate the places which contribute to the history of Vincent. Anyone can make a nomination, and you don’t have to be the owner to do so.

Places which can be nominated include:

• archaeological remains, buildings, structures, other built forms and their surrounds
• other objects with historical associations to the land
• gardens, man-made parks and trees with cultural heritage significance
