The City of Vincent has reviewed the Street Tree Policy and is seeking community feedback on proposed amendments.
The Street Tree Policy provides guidance on the effective management and protection of trees on thoroughfares within Vincent.
Key changes to the policy include:
- Street tree selection and planting to preference native tree species, enhance streetscape diversity and provide continuity of canopy coverage.
- Introduction of a street tree protection clause for developments to provide guidance when carrying out works on or near to the verge area.
The amended policy also retains permissions for street tree attachments such as swings, rope ladders, decorations and lighting.
At its November meeting, Council approved the proposed amendments to the Street Tree Policy for the purposes of community consultation.
